Background

In carrying out their profession, dentists provide excellent dental and oral health services in accordance with the rapid progress of science and technology in dentistry. A dentist is a work based on science, competence, discipline code of ethics and community service. Therefore, a dentist should be committed to the improvement of professionalism to update their knowledge and skills in accordance with Indonesian dentist competency standards.

The globalization of dentistry requires the dentist to understand and to follow technological advances and to improve their clinical skills in dentistry scientific forums. Likewise with specialist dentists who should always increase their knowledge and skills in order to answer all challenges, especially to face MEA, where foreign dentists will be free to open their practice in Indonesia and vice versa.

Faculty of Dentistry Hasanuddin University as one of the largest educational institutions in Eastern Indonesia is responsible not only to educate and to produce dentists that ready to compete in the community and the international world, but also is expected to be a motor of quality improvement and competence of dentists to answer the demand of the time, and to become a pioneer in improving the quality and distribution of dental and oral health services widely.

For that reason, Faculty of Dentistry Hasanuddin University will hold the biennial agenda in the form of International Conference on Biophysical Technology in Dentistry (ICoBTD 2019) in conjunction with Scientific Meeting of Dentistry X which focusing on skill and professionalism improvement through international dental seminar that will be attended by overseas and domestic speakers and will also discuss about various applicative techniques in dentistry in accordance with Indonesian Dentist Competency Standard.
